Welcome! This is a community for all Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered people in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hopefully this will become a place where we can meet, hang out, get to know each other, and stay aware of issues happening in our community. We have just a few basic rules...

1) No personal attacks. Differences of opinion are fine -- even welcomed. Lively debate is something that I encourage. But calling people names and/or attacking other community members on a personal level will not be tolerated. Those comments/entries will be deleted, and if the situation continues further action will be taken.

2) Be safe. Posting what city/neighborhood you live in is fine, but posts containing street addresses, phone numbers, etc will be deleted. If you want to get together with other community members, that's fabulous! However, please take the detailed arrangements to email or IM. This is an open community, and anyone can wander in and get your personal information. This goes even if the entry is marked "friends only", because anyone can join the community at any time.

3) No spam. Some of the posts here are to promote a particular activity -- movie, club opening, festival, whatever. I think that's great, and an important way to keep in touch with things going on in our community. Just don't be excessive about posting an "ad" for the same thing too many times in a row. We haven't had a problem with this yet, so I'm leaving this pretty loose for now... just use your common sense and we'll be cool.

I really don't want to over-legislate what this community is for. I see no reason that it can't be a place for us to meet each other, get to know each other and shoot the breeze.... as well as discussing issues relevant to our community, and learning about events (club nights, festivals, etc) going on that are relevant to our community. This place is for all bay area queers, to talk about everything relating to bay area queers.
